JAPEX Norge is looking for an Experienced Explorationist able to generate high-quality prospects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) with strong technical knowledge and ability to integrate diverse subsurface datasets.

The successful candidate should also demonstrate Norwegian license management experience and competences to evaluate exploration opportunities.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Stavanger. The role is ideal for someone who is passionate about delivering results in a dynamic environment. You will join a multicultural subsurface team of geologists and reservoir engineers, where collaboration, adaptability, ownership and initiative will be key to integration and success.

Key Responsibilities
• Act as a prospect generator, demonstrate creativity identifying and maturing new exploration opportunities.
• Apply geological and geophysical knowledge to evaluate plays and prospects.
• Integrate and interpret diverse subsurface datasets to identify and mature exploration opportunities.
• Perform risk evaluations and volume calculations.
• Prepare and deliver APA applications.
• Evaluate exploration farm-in opportunities and prepare clear recommendations.
• Support license work, provide constructive technical input and exploration license management.
• Contribute to strategic decision-making for exploration portfolio growth.

Qualifications and experience
• Master or PhD in Geoscience.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience on the NCS as prospect generator and license management.
• Proficiency in Petrel software.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
